Linda H. Wood

Linda H. Wood, 59, passed from this life on Saturday, February 3, 2024. She was the loving wife of Richard N. Wood and they celebrated 38 years of marriage in May of 2023. Born in Aurora, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late Richard Clayton and Dorothy Joanne (Lemmon) Hopkins. Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Austin Wood, Carson Wood, and Mason Wood; and two sisters, Suzanne Hopkins and Terry Bills and her husband, Ed.

After a year and half battle with esophageal cancer, Linda passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Linda was a caring mother who was a homemaker that stayed home to care for her three boys she raised into gentlemen. She loved to craft and decorate in her own time for every season. Travelling with her family and friends was something Linda was passionate about. She was a deeply compassionate, caring, and loving soul who had a laugh that would bring joy to the room. Linda was the glue to so many people's lives and will surely be missed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a visitation Saturday, February 10 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. 2nd St., New Freedom, PA 17349. There will be a funeral service Sunday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 20901 Mt. Zion Road, Freeland, MD 21053. Burial will follow the service in the adjoining church cemetery.
