Thomas H. Gemmill, 64, died April 9, 2016, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Rosanna H. Gemmill. A viewing will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Centre Presbyterian Church, 83 New Park Road, New Park, PA. The Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, officiated by the Rev. James L. Biller. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Thomas was born December 14, 1951, in Baltimore, Md., a son of the late Thomas B. and Ruth Anna (Hess) Gemmill. Thomas was a member of Centre Presbyterian Church, a former Deacon, current Church Elder and a member of the Harmony Sunday School Class. For the past 30 years, Thomas organized and ran their annual ham and oyster dinner. He was a graduate of Kennard Dale High School in 1969 and a 1973 graduate from Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Husbandry. He was a lifelong farmer of his family's farm; Lime Spreading Business. During his lifetime, Thomas donated over 8 gallons of blood to benefit others in York County. He had a private pilot's license and enjoyed flying a Piper Cherokee. He also was a member of the Aircraft Owner's and Pilot's Assoc. (AOPA). His favorite pastime was to take friends and family out for trips in the plane. Thomas and Rosanna celebrated 41 years of marriage this March 27th. Thomas is survived by daughter, Lanette D. Gemmill and her husband Brandon Judy of Lititz; son, Kyle T. Gemmill and his wife Jennifer of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Hudson and Eliza Walters of Lititz, and Wyatt and Levi Gemmill of San Antonio, Texas; two nephews, Jason and Justin Wolf; a sister, Connie Wolf and her husband Danny of Stewartstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mason Dixon Community Service, 5 Pendyrus St., Suite W, Delta, PA 17314; or Centre Presbyterian Church, Board of Deacons, c/o Tim Schneider, 83 New Park Road, New Park, PA 17352.
