William “Bill” Joseph Allen Ii

William “Bill” Joseph Allen II, 64, of York passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

He was the loving husband of Donna Allen of York for 31 years.

Bill was born December 14, 1959, in York, son of the late William Joseph Allen Sr. and Jessie Ray (Pigg) Allen.

In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by two daughters Lacey Lanius and her husband Jason and Sarah Allen and her husband Michael Chester, three grandchildren John Chester, Jimmy Chester, Rowan Chester, two sisters Terry Smith and her husband Chas and Sandy Allen, niece Harli Smith and family; several nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law: Mark Winkler and Tony Weber.

Bill graduated from Hereford High School, Class of 1977 and in his youth, he worked in construction. He served his apprenticeship with Voith Hydro and continued to work as a Boilermaker for 28 years. He then was a landscaper with JT's Lawn & Hauling Service and retired in 2013. He was also a part of the union - International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

Some of his hobbies include fishing, gardening, reading, listening to audio books, watching movies, bird watching, playing with his grand kids and spending time with family. He was a foodie, had a sweet tooth, and loved candy and pie.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date this summer.
