William “Bill” K. Stiffler, 80, of New Freedom, passed away peacefully at York Hospital on Friday, March 14, 2025. Born in York, PA, he was a son to the late Ira K. and Helen A. (Cox) Stiffler. He was the loving husband of Tanya “Tonie” L. (Schuler) Stiffler for 36 years. Bill was a longtime resident of New Freedom. He served in the Army National Guard after high school and became a member of the Parkton American Legion. He worked as a Lineman for Verizon/GTE for many years; he was also a certified auto mechanic. Bill enjoyed collecting WWII memorabilia, antique shopping and collecting, and loved cars and Harleys. Bill is remembered by his wife, Tonie; son, Jon Stiffler (Terri); stepson, Eric McCullough; four grandchildren, Emi McCullough, Jameson McCullough, Josh Stiffler (Sarah), Cody Stiffler (Kaitlyn); great-granddaugher, Andie; niece, Jana (Rob); and brother, Ron Stiffler (Tina). He is also remembered by many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a baby sister. Family and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 11am-12pm at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., 24 N. 2nd St., New Freedom, PA 17349. A Memorial Service will begin at 12 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
